The Roebuck was designed by Ernest Race in 1951 and proved to be one of his most popular chairs, remaining in production until 1968. The chair echoes similar famous designs of the period but has a distinctive character of its own. Like the Antelope series the Roebuck features a steel rod frame, a material that Race was experimenting with a lot at the time.
Each Roebuck is still handmade in Britain by Race Furniture at their factory in Gloucestershire.
This ex-display model from our showroom is in perfect condition with a red, powder-coated frame and a lacquered oak veneer seat.
