If you've ever paid a visit to the furniture galleries at the Victoria and Albert museum you will have seen this iconic chair on display. Designed in 1945, the chair was a response to the government call of the day to experiment with new materials.
Among the materials which were readily available at the time was aluminium, and it was out of this metal that Ernest Race chose to cast his chair. The BA3 was shown at the Milan Triennale in 1954, where it won a Gold Medal.
A popular finish is the clear lacquered frame, which reveals the unique patterns in the cast aluminium. Available in other fabrics. Call us on 0203 904 4796 or email us to discuss further.
This is a made to order item. Each BA3 is produced by Race Furniture at their factory in Gloucestershire.
